Welcome to Zonemaps, an interactive map creation platform provided by Zoneatlas Oy.

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Zonemaps service. Please read these terms carefully before using the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Zonemaps, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.

The term “Service” refers to the Zonemaps platform, including the map editor, all maps created and published using Zonemaps, and any related features, applications, and services provided by Zoneatlas Oy.

“You” or “User” refers to any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Service.

3. Service Description

Zonemaps is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that enables users to create

interactive maps for cabin resorts, vacation rentals, outdoor recreation businesses, tourism destinations, and similar purposes.

4. User Account

4.1 Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create a user account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate and current●
  • Keep your login credentials confidential
  • Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4.2 Account Ownership

The account owner is determined by:

  • The email address registered to the account
  • The billing information used for any paid subscriptions
  • Documentation provided to Zoneatlas Oy upon request

In case of disputes regarding account ownership, Zoneatlas Oy reserves the right to make determinations based on reasonable judgment and may request documentation such as government-issued identification or business licenses.

4.3 Account Security

You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.

Zoneatlas Oy cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security.

5. Subscription Plans and Pricing

5.1 Available Plans

Zonemaps offers the following subscription tiers:

  • Starter Plan (Free)
  • Pro Plan (€19.90/month)

5.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe (stripe.com). By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize Zoneatlas Oy and Stripe to charge your designated payment method.

5.3 Automatic Renewal

Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly for Pro Plan) unless canceled before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription fee for the renewal period.

5.4 Price Changes

Zoneatlas Oy reserves the right to change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will be communicated to you in advance and will take effect at your next renewal period. Your continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5.5 No Refunds

All subscription fees are non-refundable. If you cancel your subscription, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will be downgraded to the free plan (if applicable) or access will be terminated.

5.6 Taxes

All prices are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. If applicable, value added tax (VAT) or similar sales taxes will be added to the price at checkout based on your billing address. You are responsible for compliance with any local tax obligations that may apply to your use of the Service.

6. Cancellation and Termination

6.1 Cancellation by User

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods.

To avoid being charged for the next billing period, you must cancel at least 24 hours before your subscription renewal date.

6.2 Termination by Zoneatlas Oy

Zoneatlas Oy reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the

Service at any time, with or without notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms and Conditions
  • Failure to pay applicable fees
  • Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
  • Any other reason deemed necessary to protect the Service or other users

6.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination or cancellation:

  • Your access to paid features will cease
  • Your maps may become unavailable to end users
  • Your account data may be deleted after a reasonable period
  • You will not be entitled to any refund of fees paid

Zoneatlas Oy is not liable for any loss of data, content, or features resulting from account termination or cancellation.

7. User Content and Responsibilities

7.1 Your ContentYou retain ownership of all content you create, upload, or input into the Service, including maps, points of interest, descriptions, images, and other materials (“User Content”).

By using the Service, you grant Zoneatlas Oy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

  • Host, store, and display your User Content
  • Process and transmit your User Content as necessary to provide the Service
  • Make backup copies of your User Content
  • Use your maps in marketing materials (unless you opt out by contacting us)

7.2 Content Requirements

You represent and warrant that your User Content:

  • Is accurate and not misleading
  • Does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights
  • Does not contain viruses, malware, or other harmful components
  • Complies with all applicable laws and regulations

7.3 Prohibited Content

You agree not to create, upload, or publish content that:

  • Contains adult content, pornography, or sexually explicit material
  • Promotes or facilitates illegal activities
  • Is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive
  • Violates any person’s privacy or publicity rights
  • Contains hate speech, discrimination, or violence
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Is fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading

Zoneatlas Oy reserves the right to remove any content that violates these prohibitions without notice.

7.4 Monitoring

Zoneatlas Oy has no obligation to monitor User Content but reserves the right to review, monitor, and remove content at its sole discretion.

8. Third-Party Services and Data

8.1 Map Data Providers

Zonemaps uses map data from OpenStreetMap and MapTiler. By using the Service, you agree to comply with the terms and attribution requirements of these providers:

  • OpenStreetMap: https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright
  • MapTiler: https://www.maptiler.com/copyright/

All maps created with Zonemaps must retain the attribution notices for these data providers.

8.2 Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. Zoneatlas Oy is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites and does not endorse them.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

9.1 Zoneatlas Oy’s Rights

All rights, title, and interest in the Service, including the software, design, user interface, features, functionality, trademarks, and other intellectual property, are owned by Zoneatlas Oy and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9.2 Limited License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, Zoneatlas Oy grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your business or personal purposes.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
  • Rent, lease, sell, or sublicense access to the Service
  • Use the Service to build a competitive product or service

10. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Collect or harvest information about other users
  • Upload viruses, malware, or other malicious code
  • Attempt to circumvent security features or restrictions
  • Use the Service in any way that could harm Zoneatlas Oy’s reputation
  • Overload or stress-test the Service infrastructure

11. Data Protection and Privacy

11.1 Personal Data

Zoneatlas Oy collects and processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

11.2 Data Processing

By using the Service, you acknowledge that Zoneatlas Oy will:

  • Store your account information and User Content on secure servers
  • Process personal data necessary to provide the Service
  • Use cookies and similar technologies
  • Share data with third-party service providers (such as Stripe for payment processing)

11.3 Privacy Policy

A comprehensive Privacy Policy will be made available separately and will provide detailed information about how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data.

11.4 Data Security

While Zoneatlas Oy implements reasonable security measures to protect your data, no internet-based service can be 100% secure. You acknowledge that data transmission over the internet carries inherent risks.

12. Warranties and Disclaimers

12.1 Service Provided “As Is”

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Warranties of merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Accuracy or reliability of content
  • Security of data transmission

12.2 No Guarantees

Zoneatlas Oy does not warrant that:

  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • The Service will be available at all times or without interruptions
  • All errors or defects will be corrected
  • The Service is free from viruses or harmful components
  • Maps created will be accurate or suitable for navigation purposes

12.3 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • Your use of the Service and maps created
  • The accuracy and legality of your User Content
  • Ensuring your use complies with applicable laws
  • Any decisions made based on maps or information from the Service

13. Limitation of Liability

13.1 Maximum Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZONEATLAS OY’S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ZONEATLAS OY IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.

13.2 Excluded Damages

IN NO EVENT SHALL ZONEATLAS OY BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Loss of or damage to reputation
  • Business interruption
  • Cost of substitute services
  • Personal injury or property damage
  • Damages resulting from third-party actions

13.3 Basis of Bargain

You acknowledge that Zoneatlas Oy has set its prices and entered into these Terms in reliance upon the limitations of liability set forth herein, which allocate risk between the parties and form a basis of the bargain between the parties.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Zoneatlas Oy, its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your User Content
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations

15. Changes to Terms and Service

15.1 Modifications to Terms

Zoneatlas Oy reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website or notification to you via email.

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.

15.2 Service Changes

Zoneatlas Oy may:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service
  • Change subscription plans or pricing (with advance notice for existing subscriptions)
  • Update the Service with new features or improvement
  • Zoneatlas Oy is not liable for any modifications, suspensions, or discontinuations of the Service.

16. General Provisions

16.1 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

As Finland is a member of the European Union, applicable EU regulations (including GDPR) also apply.

16.2 Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tampere, Finland.

16.3 Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Zoneatlas Oy regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.

16.4 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16.5 No Waiver

The failure of Zoneatlas Oy to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

16.6 Assignment

Zoneatlas Oy may assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms without your consent. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations without Zoneatlas Oy’s prior written consent.

16.7 Force Majeure

Zoneatlas Oy shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, labor disputes, government actions, or internet/telecommunications failures.

16.8 Language

These Terms are provided in English. In case of any translations, the English version shall prevail in case of discrepancies.

16.9 Relationship

Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Zoneatlas Oy.

16.10 Survival

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

Where not otherwise specified in these Terms, the following Finnish general terms shall apply:

17.2 Beta Features

Certain features of the Service may be offered as beta versions. Beta features are provided “as is” and may contain bugs or not operate as intended. Zoneatlas Oy makes no warranties regarding beta features.

17.3 Feedback

If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, Zoneatlas Oy may use such feedback without any obligation to you, including for improving or developing new features.
